After more than 30 years in social work, Helenjean Cardina retired as a Training Supervisor. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and her master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Helenjean is Will’s cousin by marriage. She and her husband admired Will’s musical drive and passion, and they were equally moved by the struggles and pain he endured. After Will’s death, Helenjean promised his family she would help honor his life and legacy. Will Call was born from that promise—a vision created to offer comfort, connection, and remembrance.
Geoff Auerbach lived out his formative years in Akron, eventually taking his talents on a world tour of 38 countries before returning home. In the decade away, he was continually embraced and taught what it means to keep an open mind and an open heart. Geoff has worked and volunteered for various philanthropic causes before deciding to focus on working with youth.

Geoff received an Associate of Applied Science in Community Services and a Cisco Certified Network Administrator Certificate from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Hunter’s College before going on to earn a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Geoff’s work with Will Call is inspired by his own efforts to process grief and to, in turn, embrace others as they open their hearts to the inevitable process of life and death.

Beth Cardina is a dedicated community leader and social worker with a heart for service. With almost forty years in the child welfare sector, Beth’s idea for Will Call began as a way to honor her son, Will, after his death in February 2025.

Beth’s career has spanned roles in direct service, training, and executive leadership at organizations like the CASA/GAL Program of Summit County. Her ability to drive strategic initiatives has helped the CASA program become one of the most successful and largest in the state of Ohio.

Beth’s passion for Will Call stems from her own experience with grief as well as assisting others in their bereavement journey. She understands firsthand the positive impact talking about grief can have, and she is committed to ensuring Will Call reaches even more people in need.

When she is not advocating for Will Call, you can find Beth visiting Little Italy, going to the movies, listening to public radio, and spending time with her husband, Bill, and their pup, Romo.

Beth welcomes conversations about how we can better dialogue about grief.
